So, This is a Blog Now
Right, hello. I'm Q.B. Ashworth, and this is — apparently — a blog.
I've spent the last 12 years buried in a manuscript about four guys on a boar hunt who stumble into the end of the world, so forgive me if my "welcome to my website" energy is a little rusty. I'm told this is the part where I'm supposed to say something charming about my writing journey. I don't really have one of those yet. I have a novel, a folder full of short stories nobody's read, and a website that, until about an hour ago, had a stock photo of someone's very nice desk lamp where this post is now.
Here's the actual plan, for anyone who wanders in early: this is where I'll talk about the book — The Revenant Strain — the world it's set in, the short stories that live alongside it, and probably some stuff about writing craft when I feel like getting into the weeds. I make no promises about consistency. Some months there'll be a lot to say. Other months I'll be staring at a cursor wondering why a fictional Russian handgun is somehow the hardest continuity problem I've ever solved.
If you're here from The Archive— welcome, this is the part of the house with slightly worse lighting and more personal opinions.
More soon. Possibly even good stuff.
